Scenery Mountain Lookout

This cache is located on top of Scenery Mountain which is at the northern edge of the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness area. An old Forest Service lookout tower sits on the top. On your way up you will walk through the remains of the wildfire of 2000. You will get to the top of the mountain by using FS trial #649. If you use the upper trailhead the trail to the top of the mountain is about 3.2 miles long and has and elevation gain of approximately 2500 feet. To get to this trailhead you will need to go up the Cedar Creek road #402, which is a couple miles west of Libby. On top you have some great views into the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness.
